REST Assured Comfort Trial

Sleep on it. If it is not right, we fix it.

We are not satisfied until you are. If your new mattress is not the right fit, you have up to 90 nights to exchange it — and we come pick it up.

Two ways forward

Exchange it, or return it

These are two separate policies with different timeframes. Here is how each one works.

Comfort exchange

Up to 90 nights

One-time exchange for a different mattress

Exchange your mattress one time for a different one, reselected from the store or website you originally bought from. The trial length depends on the manufacturer and starts the day you receive it.

Available on purchases within our local delivery area.

Return

21 days

Return it for a refund

If you would rather return the mattress than exchange it, you can do that within 21 days of receiving it.

Available on purchases within our local delivery area. A processing fee applies — see below.

No surprises

What it costs, stated up front

Most retailers bury this. We would rather you knew before you buy.

No fee

Exchange up in value

You pay only the difference plus the additional sales tax. Nothing else.

9%

Exchange down in value

We refund the difference plus applicable sales tax, less a 9% fee on the returning mattress.

Up to 12%

Return within 21 days

A fair processing fee of no more than 12% of the subtotal, to recoup costs incurred.

Worth comparing

Comfort trials are not all the same

They look alike until you read the fine print. Here is ours beside what the national chains publish.

If I exchange for something of equal or greater value, what does it cost?

At Sleep Center

No fee. You pay the price difference plus sales tax on that difference. Nothing else.

National chains

A flat exchange fee is common. One national retailer currently charges $149 to exchange.

What if I exchange and still am not happy?

At Sleep Center

We are a local business and always want our customers happy. Situtations like this rarely happen, but when they do it is a case-by-case basis.

National chains

The same flat fee can apply a second time — one publishes $149 again on the return, which can total $298 in fees alone.

How long before I can do anything?

At Sleep Center

We recommend 10 nights so your body can adjust, but we do not require it. If it is wrong on night three, call us. We won't force you to be uncomfortable for a month.

National chains

Many require you sleep on it for a minimum of 30 nights before you are eligible for an exchange or return at all. Tough month.

Who physically moves the mattress?

At Sleep Center

We do. Our own employees come to your home, take the original out and set the new one up.

National chains

Delivery is typically handled by third-party crews rather than store employees.

Competitor terms as published on their own website. Policies change without notice — read theirs before you buy, and read ours in full below.

Step by step

How an exchange works

No forms and no shipping labels. Call us and we handle it.

Sleep on it

We recommend at least 10 nights. New mattresses have a break-in period and bodies need time to adjust. It is a recommendation, not a requirement.

Call us

Reach out to the store you bought from, or call (888) 695-2337. Tell us what is not working and we will talk through the options.

Reselect

Choose a different mattress from the same store or website. We strongly encourage equal or greater value — there are no fees when you go up.

We collect and deliver

Our team transports the original mattress out and brings the new one in. You do not box anything or arrange anything.

Good to know

Common questions

Why should I sleep on it for 10 nights first?

New mattresses have a genuine break-in period as they are usually firmer when brand new. Your body needs time to adjust to a newer support surface. A mattress that feels wrong on night two often feels right by night ten. We recommend it but we do not require it — the choice is yours.

Why does a stain void the trial?

A soiled or stained mattress cannot be returned to the manufacturer or resold, so we are unable to accept it. This protects the health of workers and cleanliness of trucks and facilities. This is also the single most common reason mattress warranty claims are denied. A protector is inexpensive insurance on both counts.

Can I exchange for something less expensive?

Yes. We refund the difference plus the applicable sales tax on that difference, less a 9% fee on the returning mattress. Going up in value carries no fee at all, which is why we encourage it. If you were unhappy with the $700 mattress, you probably won't be happy with the $500 mattress. That's why most people exchange equal or greater value and avoid fees too.

Do I have to bring the mattress back myself?

No — and you cannot. We must transport the mattress being collected, even if you picked up the original order yourself. That is part of the service.

How long is my trial exactly?

Tempurpedic, Stearns & Foster, Copper by Spring Air, and some Sealy mattresses carry a 90 night trial. Some others carry a 100 night and 365 night, as the exact length depends on the manufacturer of the mattress you bought, and it starts the day you receive it. The good news is you will always have at least 30 nights, which most people know within the first few weeks if they like it or not.

What if I bought outside the local delivery area?

The Comfort Trial and return policy apply to purchases within our local delivery area. Outside that area, the manufacturer's own warranty applies and some do are able to facilitate a swap. Contact us and we will help you at all costs.

Come in and let a Sleep Consultant help you get it right the first time — and know that if it is not right, we will sort it out.

REST Assured, up to 90 Night Comfort Trial. The Comfort Trial duration depends on the manufacturer and begins the date you receive your mattress. Considering the natural break-in period and an initial adjustment period for some people, we highly recommend you sleep on your new mattress for a minimum of 10 days but do not require it. Purchases made only in the LOCAL DELIVERY AREA may exchange the mattress one time only and must reselect a mattress from the original store or website purchased from. We strongly encourage an exchange of equal or greater value. If you go up in value there are no fees; you are responsible only for the difference plus additional sales tax. If you go down in value we will refund the difference plus applicable sales tax on the difference; this incurs a 9% fee of the returning mattress. The manufacturer law tag must be attached and the returning mattress must be free of any soils and/or stains, or this Comfort Trial is null and void. We must transport the bed being picked up, even if you picked up the original order yourself. There are no Comfort Exchanges or Returns on: any purchase made outside of our LOCAL DELIVERY AREA, odd sizes, adjustable/power bases, discontinued or closeout beds, floor models, furniture, futon mattresses, pillows, protectors, toppers, linens and/or accessories. Purchases made in our LOCAL DELIVERY AREA may be returned within 21 days of receipt; Sleep Center reserves the right to charge a fair fee of no more than 12% of the Subtotal to recoup costs incurred during the sales and refund processes.
